The other night Game of Thrones premiered season 4 at the Museum of Natural History in NYC. More than 20 actors, GRRM himself and creators Dan (Weiss) & David (Benioff) were there, which means… red carpet time!! Apparently the NY Philharmonic played the theme song and the Rains of Castamere(!) live, and there was at least one gigantic dragon on display. You can check out the hour-long video stream including interviews with the cast over HERE. Let’s look at what the ladies of Westeros were wearing for the premiere!
Emilia Clarke is smokin’ in a sheer Donna Karan halter dress. Beautiful outfit, and I love the 50’s hair paired with drop earrings by Fred Leighton.
Maisie Williams is so cute here! The dress is really classy yet age-appropriate, which is refreshing in a time where many 16-year old starlets try too hard to look like adults. The yellow pumps are a nice, colorful touch as well!
Lena Headey looks absolutely killer in an organza & velvet Jenny Packham gown. Lena kept her makeup pretty minimal and hair casual, which suits her well. She also rules for arriving at the event wearing a leather jacket over her red carpet outfit. All hail the queen regent!
Nathalie Emmanuel showed up in a pretty daring Georges Chakra couture jumpsuit situation. Great smokey eye with the perfect amount of sparkle (here’s a closeup)!
The wonderful Gwendoline Christie rocked this classy asymmetrical black & white satin Giles dress paired with black Louboutins. I love her for not shying away from high heels (she reportedly stands 1.90 m tall).
Rose Leslie is always a sight to be seen, and this night is no exception. Her white & cream dress looks gorgeous with her complexion, and I’m a big fan of red lips and nails with the gold accessories (clutch & heels).
Similarly, Sibel Kekilli showed up in a demure white ensemble with gold belt accent. I like that she kept her face fresh with a subtle smoky eye, but could have been a bit more daring.
Sophie Turner went for a deep side-part to show off her beautiful waist-length locks. I wish there was a bit more volume on top since long hair easily falls flat. (Dry shampoo is your friend, Sophie!) The Peter Pilotto peplum dress is a cute choice.
The belle of the ball as far as I’m concerned: Carice van Houten. Again, she showed up in a strapless Dior number which seems to be made for her. Carice is a natural beauty and I love how she played up her eyes. Her multi-tone brunette hair also looks perfectly styled.
And last but not least, Dame Diana Rigg! The former sex symbol looked elegant in a velvet outfit & sparkly earrings, and a lovely blonde bob.
