Winter is Coming, Arya Stark

While winter is coming to an end, some of you may still be stuck in a polar vortex/Winterfell, so chances are that your skin & hair are dryer than usual. Not to mention suffering from one of my most hated winter symptoms: chapped lips. How does a wolf princess of the North like Arya deal with such beauty nuisances? Let’s find out…

Body

Dry, flaky skin? Nope, not with Stark Daily Body Scrub. Not only does this aptly named stuff smooth and exfoliate with the help of volcanic rock grains(!), red sea algae soothes skin and ginger & grapefruit reduce the appearance of cellulite. Not that Arya has any, but some of us do!

Now that you’re smooth and polished, treat your body to a cult classic treat; Kiehl’s Creme de Corps. This super rich and luxurious cream is especially suitable for winter skin due to its hydrating components such as shea and jojoba butters.

Face

Snow and wind can wreak havoc on your peachy complexion. Don’t let this ruin your face, you have enough battles to fight as it is as long as there are Lannisters alive! Get your skin through winter with Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator, a skin-plumping hydrating cream gel that instantly relieves dryness and repair the skin’s moisture barrier.

Lips

Chapped lips begone! To get rid of annoying flakes and hydrate instantly, use a lip scrub like Sara Happ’s Peppermint Lip Scrub. Bonus: peppermint increases blood circulation and freshens your breath (maybe the Hound would like some of this too). If you want to get crafty, make your own by mixing some sugar, a few drops of coconut oil & peppermint essential oil together.

My #1 beauty essential that I always have in my bag is definitely lip balm. My lips get super dry and chapped in the winter, so if you’re prone to this too don’t forget lip balm to protect yours from the elements! Try this Stark-inspired balm Winter is Coming, a handmade balm with a yummy vanilla mint flavor.

Hair

Static, dry hair? Typical #Winterfellproblems. If traditional shampoos don’t do it for you, maybe a cleansing oil will. It lathers and cleanses the hair without stripping it of its natural oils, and leaves you with soft and moisturized locks. Magic! Try Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo, which doesn’t contain silicones that coat your strands.

Fragrance

There is only one fragrance I can imagine Arya wearing, and that is Wolf’s Heart: “Grants courage under extreme conditions, helps overcome fear of death, and strengthens the fortitude of artists and businessmen, enabling them to further their goals.” If that isn’t fitting for the youngest Stark daughter on her quest for vengeance I don’t know what is.

Supplement

You’ve probably heard about goji berries, the so-called ‘superfood’ berries cultivated in China that are known for their high levels of antioxidants. Fittingly for a Stark, they’re also called wolfberries and contain various vitamins that benefit the immune system. If you’re prone to sickness in the winter, or just want to boost your health, add some organic dried wolfberries or this supplement to your diet.

Now, let’s go back to kick ass and find the remainder of our wolf pack. Valar morghulis!
